A conversation with the mirror.

You hate yourself. I can tell. Everyone does. Not only that, you hate anyone who reminds you of yourself. And if you were to realise you hated someone simply because they reminded you of yourself you would hate yourself even more.

The mind. Arguably the most beautiful conception in existence. Yet it encourages its own destruction. Why do we find the destruction of brain cells via alcohol such a pleasurable experience?

Ever been in love? I doubt it. Love doesn’t exist. Take ego and lust. It’s really nice to know someone likes you, who thinks you’re great. It makes your big head even bigger. Lust, what can I say? We all have needs. The desperation to maintain these two ingredients in a relationship is the closest thing to love. Slightly overrated if you ask me.

Life is hard isn’t it? Wrong! Life is only hard for quitters. The world isn’t against you, everyone isn’t wrong, you’re just not right. Don’t feel sorry for yourself, the universe understands you perfectly, now it’s time for you to.
God is for the ignorant and the desperate. Only a fool would follow religion through fear of god or genuinely believe in explanations that suited life in the Middle Ages. Some hope there is a god, so their life doesn’t seem so meaningless. God is for the hopeless, when your life is in such a desperate state, you’ll find any reason to keep living.

Suicide is for cowards? I would think it’s much harder to bring death upon yourself than to be lazy or scared and do nothing. Suicide is a sin? Suicide is caused by sin. Why should one endure pain to prove to yourself you aren’t a hypocrite? If you can’t beat them, join them

It’s funny how the more one learns, the more they wish things could be simpler. Why understand more about an existence that is so brutally flawed? Ignorance is bliss.

hehe! ive been waiting for a hug for so long! I never intended for these to be seen as my personal views, but of someone who had lost their way. I often wondered if the kavi i see in the mirror sees the world differently, or indeed oppositely to me, and thought i could capture his opinion on the issues we never seem to talk about when we meet. Would the parallel tanjil in the mirror totally agree to the post?

You raise many interesting points.

I agree that God and religion are for the desperate, and life is difficult if you make it difficult.

However, love does exist (I know because I am still dealing with the pains) and suicide, I think, is more cowardly, because once you're dead then you have no problems, but to live on despite hardships and troubles, possibly ones that will never abate, is much more difficult than ending it prematurely. However, the mind of a suicidee is a tricky one, and we should pity them to an extent (unless they jump in front of the Central line train as I'm going home)

First of all, I'd completely agree with the idea that people hate others when certain characteristics they possess remind them of themselves. But not everyone in this world hates themselves. No-one likes their own flaws (which is why they are more annoyed to spot them in others), but that doesn't necessarily classify everyone as a self-hater.

Secondly, I disagree with your idea that love doesn't exist. Sure, many, MANY people pretend to be in love, but the differences are clear in their minds; you know the difference in the situation. If you have to convince yourself you're in love, likelihood is that you aren't. Subconsciously, your mind accepts it, and doesn't bring it to the surface as much if it's real. It's more of a realisation, true love. But love certainly is a word that is thrown around all too often nowadays, so much so that it has lost meaning in its use. No matter what the context.

Suicide...a topic covered on my journey to Goldsmiths today.
Seems as though someone wished to end it at Liverpool Street. The Central Line was suspended between Leytonstone and Marble Arch for a while (that around half the line, I believe).
Is it for cowards? I don't think so. Not all people commit suicide because they're "sad". Or because it's an easy route out. Some do it because - and yes, this may sound highly unrealistic - they feel as though they've accomplished all they were meant to in life, and hanging around detracts value from the life they lead up and to that point.
Furthermore, there's the issue of euthanasia. Do you agree with it? I'd very much like to hear your opinion on that.

You're practically a nihilist, Kavi :D!
